Job Title: Male SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: South Norwood, South London
Full-Time – 5 days per week
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Male SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in South Norwood. This is a full-time position (Monday–Friday) and an excellent opportunity for someone experienced in supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their potential by:

Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN and SEMH needs
-
Creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
-
Assisting teachers in delivering tailored lessons and interventions
-
Building strong relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and progress
-
Using effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive classroom environment
What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience working with young people with SEN/SEMH needs (essential)

Excellent behaviour management skills with a calm, confident, and resilient approach
-
Ability to engage and motivate students in a supportive way

A genuine passion for making a difference in young people’s lives

Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
