Makaton trained Teaching Assistant required for Primary School in Harlesden

  • £60-70 per day, depending on experience
  • Full-time position, term time only
  • Continued professional development courses such as Ruth Miskin speech and language training

Are you trained in Makaton? Are you seeking an exciting new challenge within a mainstream Primary?

About the Role

A client school that is located in Sudbury are seeking 2x learning support assistants to work with children in Reception. These children are on the autistic spectrum and they have very challenging behaviour. They require an experienced learning support assistant who is able to provide a caring and supportive environment that encourages their learning development. You will be supporting the pupil on a 1:1 basis and you will be required to build a good rapport with the young pupil.

About the School

This is a large three form entry Primary School that has been Ofsted rated as 'Good'. It is a short walking distance from South Kenton underground station which is situated on the Bakerloo Line.

The school are dedicated to ensure that all children are given opportunities to develop their full potential and that they will have an inspiring, broad and balanced learning experience to ensure that they are able to make a positive contribution to society. They are looking for someone who can make a real difference to the lives of these children and hit the ground running immediately.

The ideal candidate:

*You must be trained in Makaton

*You must have at least 3months experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs such as Autism, Global Learning Delay, Speech and Language Needs

*Good command of the English Language

*Personable, charismatic and friendly
