LSA for local Uxbridge College

 

A lovely special needs school in Hillingdon are looking for experienced support workers to work 1:1 with pupils on the autistic spectrum. This school is an excellent provision and caters secondary pupils. 

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need to be personable, well-spoken, and engaging with your approach to working with the students. You will be passionate about your work, always willing to go the extra mile with excellent behaviour management to support your colleagues.

The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • Supported pupils one-to-one or in small groups.
  • Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Experience working with children with SEN.
  • Flexible and available for full time work.
  • Current, valid DBS that is on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies.
  • Be a confident person with a warm and friendly approach.
  • Able to apply behaviour policies effectively.

Ideal candidate:

  • Experience supporting complex needs of children with SEN
  • A calm and resilient personality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Must haves:

  • Adult and Child Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • The right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
