A fantastic opportunity has arisen at an excellent school in Leicester City for the position of a literacy intervention teacher. The school are seeking English graduates who can utilise their degree knowledge to support and enhance pupils learning in the school. This role will be due to start as soon as possible at least until the SATs.
What will be required?
As a literacy intervention teacher, you will spend your morning in KS2 supporting the classroom teacher with literacy lessons and ensure all pupils are focussed and on task. During the afternoon you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging literacy lessons to low ability focus groups. It is important that you plan resources that cater for differentiation as some pupils will be at different ability levels than others.
This role would be extremely beneficial for an enthusiastic English Graduate who is looking to pursue a career in education. It would be an advantage if you do have previous experience working in schools as a teaching assistant however this is not essential.
