Leyland School requires Tutors

Teaching Personnel work closely with a School based in the Leyland area, the School caters for KS2 - 4 pupils who have SEMH Difficulties, Autism, ADHD, ODD and Challenging Behaviours.

The School is smaller than average with less than 45 pupils on roll. Class sizes are generally under 6 pupils per class and there will always be at least one Teaching Assistant per class.

The behaviour in School can be challenging and candidates with their Team Teach qualification will be favoured, but this is not essential.

Candidates interested in the roles (below) must have strong behaviour management skills, a passion for working with pupils who have additional needs and/or challenging behaviours and be looking for a long term role.

Role One - Hair & Beauty Tutor

3 days a week, between 11am - 3pm, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The School are looking for a Hair and Beauty Tutor, the candidate must have experience delivering lessons in hair and beauty and you must have experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviours. You must be willing to plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons to mainly KS3/4 female pupils.

Role Two - SEAL Tutor

This role will be every Tuesday for definite, but potentially also Wednesdays too. The role will be to deliver lessons on 'SEAL' which is comprehensive, whole-school approach to promoting the social and emotional skills that underpin effective learning, positive behaviour, regular attendance, staff effectiveness and the emotional health and well- being. For this role the School will consider candidates who are qualified Teachers AND candidates who are not qualified in teaching but have experience in counselling or intervention. You will also be expected to provide 1:1 tuition or intervention for KS2 -4 pupils.
