Teaching Assistant Level 3 (TA3) – 1:1 Support

Location: Firswood, M16, Manchester
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Firswood, M16 is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil from September 2026.

This rewarding role would suit an experienced TA who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external agencies to provide tailored support that enables the pupil to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
  • Implement individual learning and support plans in line with the pupil's needs.
  • Support the pupil's academic progress, engagement, and independence.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEND professionals, and parents/carers.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to the class teacher and SENDCo.
  • Adapt resources and activities to ensure access to the curriculum.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis within a primary school setting.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs (desirable).
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.
  • The ability to use initiative while working as part of a wider school team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
