Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit passionate and enthusiastic teaching assistants for our partner Multiacademy Trust of SEN specialist schools in the Oldham and Tameside area.

The position will be working predominately with 11-16 year old pupils who have variety of special educational needs including; physical disabilities, complex needs and communication needs.

Ideally you will have a flexible nature and be prepared to cover across all years when required.

Your role will be supporting behaviour management by engaging and interacting with the children to enable them to access the curriculum fully. The roles are temporary covering long term and short term absence, but may extend as the supply work progresses with possible opportunities of a permanent contact.

The Trust aspires to work together with everyone who is involved in the lives of their pupils and create an inclusive environment and ensure that all pupils reach their full potential. The school provides various support and equipment for the students including sensory rooms, speech and language therapy and the opportunity to complete work placements.

The ideal candidate needs to:

• Demonstrate flexibility, as quite often they may be required to work across various classes and support children with varying needs.
• Demonstrate empathy, resilience and strong classroom management skills.

An ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

• School based SEN experience
• Makaton experience or BSL (to any level)
• Moving and handling / Team- Teach qualification (desired)
• An empathetic and caring personality
