Job description
Learning Support Assistant (Level 2 or 3 BSL) – Wokingham
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant with British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 or 3 to join our dedicated team in Wokingham. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils who are deaf or hard of hearing to access learning and thrive in school.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality support to pupils with hearing impairments, enabling full access to the curriculum.

Use BSL effectively to aid communication and learning.

Assist teachers in adapting resources and delivering lessons that meet pupils’ individual needs.
-
Promote inclusion, independence, and confidence in the classroom and wider school community.

Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to ensure consistency of support.
Requirements:
-
BSL qualification at Level 2 or 3 (essential).
-
Previous experience supporting children in an educational setting (desirable).
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.

Contract: Full-time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
