Learning Support Mentor – Year 6 SATs Intervention

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Mentor to join our team in Blackburn, providing targeted SATs intervention for Year 6 pupils.

The successful candidate will work closely with Year 6 children, delivering focused one-to-one and small group intervention sessions in English and Maths to help pupils build confidence, strengthen their knowledge, and achieve their full potential in preparation for their Key Stage 2 SATs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging one-to-one and small group SATs intervention sessions for Year 6 children.
• Support pupils in developing their reading, writing, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and maths skills.
• Identify learning gaps and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers and school staff to monitor pupil progress.
• Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment.
• Motivate and inspire pupils to develop confidence and resilience ahead of their SATs.
• Keep accurate records of pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience working with Year 6 or Key Stage 2 pupils.
• A strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and SATs requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to engage, motivate, and inspire children.
• Patience, flexibility, and a passion for helping pupils succeed.
• A relevant qualification in education, childcare, teaching assistance, or learning support is desirable but not essential.
