Are you a Sports Coach or Sports Graduate looking to move into secondary education or gain more experience supporting young people?

Teaching Personnel are looking for Sports Coaches and Graduates to work in secondary schools across Hampshire. Successful candidates will work to support students in a Sports Coach capacity as well as acing as a classroom or teaching assistant when necessary. This is the perfect opportunity for graduates looking to gain more classroom experience to support a PGCE application or a career in classroom support.

The role of Sports Coach will be full time during school hours, with successful candidates generally expected to work 8:30 – 3:30 five days a week. Sports Coaches will work mostly to support students with SEN and SEMH requirements, as well as those displaying challenging behaviour or students from youth work and residential care backgrounds.

To be eligible to apply for this role candidates should:

  • Be educated to degree level in Sports Coaching or equivelant or have relevant experience in a suitable field
  • Have a desire to get into a career in secondary education
  • Be able to provide suitable previous employment or character references with no safeguarding concerns or disciplinary proceedings
  • Have a Child Workforce DBS certificate on the update service/ be eligible and willing to apply for one
  • Previous experience as a Sports Coach would be beneficial however any previous experience working with young people would also be beneficial to the role e.g. tutoring, mentoring, classroom assistance, youth work, support work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
