Learning Support Assistant – SEN School
Location: Southampton Area
Pay: £13.75 per hour | Term Time Only

We are seeking a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in the Southampton area. The school provides support to pupils with a variety of learning, communication, and behavioural needs, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.

This role is perfect for individuals passionate about supporting pupils with SEN, whether you have experience or are new to the sector. Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to pupils with diverse needs

  • Assist teaching staff with lesson delivery and classroom activities

  • Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment

  • Support pupils with personal care, physical needs, and behaviour where necessary

  • Promote pupil independence and positive social interaction

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Genuine interest in working with children and young people with special educational needs

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patience, resilience, and empathy

  • Ability to work well as part of a team

  • Previous SEN experience is beneficial but not essential

 

Position Details:

  • Contract: Term Time Only

  • Pay: £13.75 per hour

  • Location: Southampton Area

  • Start Date: Flexible to you
