Location: Woolwich

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Full Time – 5 days a week

Teaching Personnel are looking for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to start in January

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the SENCO and classroom teacher to provide individualized support and guidance to the student.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support for a student with SEN, ensuring their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.
  • Implement and adapt learning activities to suit the student's individual needs and learning style.
  • Monitor and record student progress, reporting to the SENCO and classroom teacher as required.
  • Use appropriate behaviour management strategies to support the student's positive behaviour.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and/or learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Understanding of SEN, including strategies for supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to learn.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
