Learning Support Assistant Required for Bury School

Are you looking for an opportunity where you can help young people with Autism Spectrum Condition engage in education? Are you looking for a role where you can work on a 1:1 and small group basis with young people in an effort to raise attainment? We are currently attempting to identify an experienced Learning Mentor to work on a permanent basis at a specialist provision in Ramsbottom, Bury from October 2019. This client school is a fantastic facility that caters for young people with Autism and associated needs. The young people who attend this provision have Autism and as a result can display challenging/complex behaviours. Some of the pupils do live on the residential site which is co-located on the same grounds as the school.

The ideal Learning Mentor for this post will have previous experience of supporting young people in a specialist setting, ideally a school for young people with ASC and/or SEMH. The provision will accept applications from staff with the below backgrounds, as opposed to those solely with specialist education experience:

• Youth work
• Sports coaching
• Psychology Graduates
• SEN support in mainstream school

Any relevant training such as Team- teach would be advantageous to your application.
