Behaviour Support Role

Primary School in Skelmersdale

Working 121 with a child in KS2 with challenging behaviour

Team Teach qualification is preferable

It is with excitement that I inform you of our newest job. The role is to start from September 2019 and will continue until the end of the 2019/20 academic year with the view to go onto a school contract. The child you will be expected to support receives additional funding as his behaviour is highly distracting in the classroom. The school require cover in this role as they have recently found out that the current permanent member of staff is set to leave the school for another job.

In this role you will be expected to work with the class teacher in order to differentiate the Curriculum so that the said child can work effectively in the class room and reduce disruption amongst the other children in class. As the child is working higher up now in KS2 the Head teacher is keen to get continuity with the staff member supporting him and has stressed that the person coming in must have behaviour support experience. She also mentioned that it is important that the applying candidates are thick skinned and ready to hit the ground running. You will be expected to not only support the child during the working day but also throughout lunch times and break times.

The school is currently going through a transitional period and is keen to improve on the standards to ensure all the children are able to make good progress. The Head teacher is very passionate about supporting children especially given the backgrounds of some of their families. The Head teacher is also very supportive of her staff and will ensure any new person to the team is welcomed and given a full induction.

In order to apply for this role you must have the following

Level 2 or above qualification

Experience working alongside children with behaviour difficulties

Full time availability and flexibility to cover welfare and break time

The commitment and passion to support the Curriculum and improve standards in the school.
