SEN Teaching Assistant Required!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.
  • Promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
  • Support students with Autism on a 1:1 basis

Our supportive and welcoming partner school local to Colchester, are looking for an additional SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team due to expansion. This challenging but extremely rewarding role will require you to support pupils 1:1, in small groups and as part of a larger class. The role is to start in September 2021 and has the potential to move onto a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Working as a Teaching Assistant within this school you would be required to work with children with a variety of needs as well as supporting those pupils through 1:1 support, helping them develop their academic and life skills.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Experience with children with ASD, PMLD, SLD, or any other Special Educational Needs 
  • A passion to improve the lives of students through a variety of teaching techniques
  • Enthusiasm and a passion for continued improvement for the students and yourself

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
