Job description

A special school in Bradford are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils with additional needs.

The school caters for young people aged 2-19 with a wide range of needs including profound, multiple and complex conditions, autistic spectrum conditions and moderate to severe learning difficulties. All pupils have an Education Health and Care Plan or statement of Special Educational needs.

You will have experience supporting young people with additional needs in an education or healthcare setting. You may also have received training in Intensive Interaction, Makaton, PECS , TEACCH or SCERTS which support the development of provisions for pupils with complex communication needs and those with a diagnosis of autism. You have a commitment to meet the social, emotional and mental health needs of young people and will be willing to support pupils’ personal care needs.

As a registered Teaching Assistant with Teaching Personnel you will be have access to CPD courses in partnership with Team Teach and Leeds Trinity University, and you will be fully supported by your dedicated, personal consultant.

This is a full time role and you must be available to work during school hours during term time and have flexibility to attend staff meetings and/or training sessions outside of school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
