An exciting opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a special needs secondary school in Sidcup has become available.

The school has most recently been graded as ‘good’ by Ofsted, and the report says that ‘staff feel valued, there is a culture of continual improvement’.

The school caters for children who have complex special educational needs and disabilities including those with verbal and non-verbal autism. They are looking for a learning support assistant who is dedicated and committed to improving the experience of 9 students in a key stage 4 class on a daily basis.

The role:

  • Full time, long term starting April 2021 or earlier if possible
  • Monday – Friday, 08:30am – 15:30pm, term time only
  • Support a class of students with complex needs, most of whom are non-verbal
  • Assist with toileting and feeding at break time where necessary
  • Provide support for sensory development
  • Work alongside speech and language therapists and occupational therapists
  • Enjoy engaging with friendly staff members and inspirational students
  • Make a difference in helping SEN students to achieve their full potential

The school are looking for someone who wishes to become a permanent member of staff after you have proven yourself working through the agency. Teaching Personnel will support your application for a permanent position and can offer a competitive pay rate until that point.

You will be eligible to attend all whole school CPD training sessions and whilst Teaching Personnel is your employer, we will contribute a pension and national insurance contribution for you.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
