Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Multi-Academy Trust that is looking to appoint a committed and passionate candidate to join their team as a Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant in their Secondary provision. The school is an Alternative Provision that caters to the needs of young people with EHCP statements of additional needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues. The role is full time and to start as soon as possible with the opportunity to go permanent after a probationary period. The school is based in in Middleton, Leeds (LS10) and is easily accessible by bus links from surrounding areas.

The school is a brand new building and is part of an exciting new investment in Leeds SEMH provisions and is committed to providing the best opportunities possible for both students and staff which can be reflected in the development programme offered for aspiring teachers by a partner school in Barnsley.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be responsible for leading small groups and 1:1 sessions in Maths, English and other subjects and to help the class teacher effectively manage the behaviour and engage the students as much as possible. The young people tend to come from disadvantaged backgrounds and complex families and might have some self-esteem and social needs.

Because of the nature of the role and the behaviour that the students might sometimes display it is a requirement that you have Team Teach or you are willing to undergo Team Teach training.
