A vibrant, inclusive, and supportive school who are dedicated to providing high-quality education and care for children with Autism (ASC) are seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a dedicated team. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic. 

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide individual and group support to pupils with Autism, helping them access the curriculum and develop their social, emotional, and communication skills in a nurturing environment. 

Many students may have other difficulties such as speech and language impairments or behavioural challenges. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with Autism, both inside and outside the classroom.

  • Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans.

  • Promote positive relationships and encourage independence and self-confidence.

  • Support teachers in creating a calm, structured, and engaging learning atmosphere.

  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents where appropriate.

  • Support with personal care where required. 

About You:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, especially Autism, is desirable.

  • Understanding of ASC and a commitment to inclusive education.

  • Calm, patient, and flexible approach to working with children with additional needs.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) are an advantage but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
