Teaching Assistant – Supporting Children with Additional Needs

Employer: Teaching Personnel
Work Type: Flexible | Part-time | Full-time
Placements: Temporary roles with pathways to permanent positions

Teaching Personnel is looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to work as Teaching Assistants supporting children with additional needs in school settings.

Previous experience is not essential. We are keen to hear from applicants who have transferable experience or a genuine interest in working with vulnerable children, including:

  • Caring roles (personal or professional)

  • Experience supporting individuals with additional needs

  • Backgrounds in care, youth work, or support services

  • Individuals with a strong desire to make a positive difference in children’s lives

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs either 1:1 or in small groups

  • Assisting children to engage with learning and develop independence

  • Working closely with teachers and SEN staff

  • Flexible placements ranging from short-term cover to long-term roles

  • Many temporary placements progress into permanent roles within schools

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or over

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) or be willing to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
