Are you passionate about helping children learn, grow and feel confident in themselves?

We are looking for a caring, patient and reliable Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our specialist primary school in Shawford. You will support children aged 4–11 with moderate learning difficulties and additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop the skills they need to thrive.

Working as part of a supportive school team, you will build positive relationships with pupils and provide the encouragement, consistency and reassurance they need to feel safe, engaged and successful at school.

About the role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide classroom, one-to-one and small-group support, working closely with teachers and other professionals.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils with learning, communication and additional needs

• Helping children access and engage with lessons and activities

• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social skills

• Supporting children with emotional regulation and positive behaviour

• Developing warm, trusting relationships with pupils

• Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider support team

• Supporting children during transitions, break times and other school activities

• Helping pupils develop the skills and confidence to become more independent learners

Every day is different, and your support can make a meaningful difference to a child's experience of school.

About you

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is valuable, but it is not essential. We are also keen to hear from people with transferable experience in education, childcare, care, youth work or other supportive roles.
