Learning Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel will be supporting a number of schools located in Scarborough and surrounding areas in the new academic year. We will support primary, secondary and SEN schools with their staffing requirements. Teaching Personnel are recruiting Learning Support Assistants who could work both on a part-time and full-time basis next academic year.

The role of Learning Support Assistant will involve the following:

• Supporting pupils, in small groups and on 1:1, who are identified as falling behind or require additional support with their studies
• Providing general classroom assistance to teachers (activity/lesson planning)
• Covering lessons in the absence of class teachers - great way to gain classroom and behaviour management skills

Previous experience in a similar role or working with young people is very desirable! If you are a graduate considering a career in teaching, this is an opportunity to gain invaluable experience to support your ITT application.

The rates of pay will start at GBP10 per hour. There are part-time and full-time positions available across a number of partnering schools, depending on what availability you could offer.
