Learning Support Assistant

A welcoming mainstream secondary school in Poole is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September onwards. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people in their education and personal development.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support to students, including those with additional learning needs. The role will involve working both 1:1 and in small groups, helping to ensure every student can access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting students with a range of learning needs across various subjects

• Assisting teaching staff in delivering inclusive lessons

• Encouraging student engagement and promoting a positive learning environment

• Providing pastoral support and helping to manage classroom behaviour when required

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with young people, ideally within a school setting

• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach

• A genuine passion for supporting students’ learning and wellbeing

• Good communication and teamwork skills

This is a full-time role, term-time only, and would suit someone looking to gain experience in education or make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
