Location: Newport, South Wales
Pay Rate: £89.38 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full Academic Year

We’re working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Newport to recruit a Learning Support Assistant. The school offers excellent support, a strong sense of community, and a commitment to helping every student succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting students in the classroom and assisting with the school’s Additional Learning Needs (ALN) provision
- Helping pupils stay focused, confident, and engaged in their learning
- Building positive relationships with students and staff
- Providing one-to-one or small group support where needed
- Learning and applying behaviour management strategies
- Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and encouraging school environment

We’re looking for individuals with the right attitude and transferable skills. If you’re friendly, reliable, and eager to learn, we want to hear from you.
Ideal candidates will be:
- Aged 18 or older
- Positive, patient, and proactive
- Great communicators and team players
- Keen to grow and develop in a school setting
- Any previous experience with children or relevant qualifications is a bonus, but not essential
What You’ll Need (We Can Help You Get These!):
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Level 2 Safeguarding training
- At least two professional references covering 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
