Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full Academic Year

We’re working with a friendly and inclusive secondary school in Newport to recruit an Unqualified Teaching Assistant. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting both students and teachers within the classroom environment, while also supporting the schools Additional Learning Needs (ALN) provision
  • Helping pupils stay engaged and confident in their learning
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff
  • Assisting with individual or small group support where needed
  • The ability to implement strategies to manage and de-escalate behaviour effectively
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and encouraging school environment

What We’re Looking For:

No formal teaching experience? No problem!
We’re looking for individuals who can demonstrate transferable skills at interview – it’s your attitude and potential that matter most.

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Positive, patient, and proactive
  • Great communicators and team players
  • Eager to learn and grow in a school setting
  • May have previous experience working with children or relevant qualifications are a bonus, but not essential
  • Passionate about supporting young people across a range of ages and abilities

What You’ll Need (We Can Help You Get These!):

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training
  • Two professional references covering 24 months of employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
