Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Secondary School – Heywood
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Heywood, Greater Manchester
Contract Type: Full-Time (Term-Time Only)
Salary: Dependent on experience

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a thriving secondary school in Heywood from September 2025.
About the Role:
As an LSA, you will play a key role in supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4, including those with additional needs. Working alongside teaching staff, you will help create an inclusive learning environment that allows all students to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one or small group support to students in and out of class.

Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated lessons.
-
Promote student independence, confidence, and self-esteem.

Support students with SEN (Special Educational Needs), including EHCPs.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent support.
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Experience working with secondary-aged pupils (desirable but not essential).
-
A patient, caring, and proactive approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and students.
-
Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEN support are a plus.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
