Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a meaningful impact on their education and development?

Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring, resilient, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary school in Bury. The school supports pupils aged 3-11 with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to play a key role in helping children build confidence, develop essential life skills, and achieve their individual goals within a supportive and nurturing environment.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

✅ Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex SEND needs

✅ Support the delivery of personalised learning programmes linked to EHCP outcomes

✅ Encourage communication, independence, social interaction, and emotional development

✅ Participate in sensory-led, practical, and play-based learning activities

✅ Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other SEND professionals to support pupil progress

✅ Assist with personal care, mobility, and daily living skills where required

✨ Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND

✨ Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach

✨ Feels confident supporting pupils with complex learning needs

✨ Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

✨ Is passionate about helping every child reach their full potential

➕ Desirable Skills & Experience

Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or alternative communication systems

Previous experience within a specialist school, SEND provision, or care setting

Relevant SEND qualifications, training, or professional development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
