A Special needs school in Bromley supporting pupils with Autism are currently seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant who has assisted students from the ages of 5-19 years with a statement of special educational needs.
The school aim to provide an encouraging learning environment for its pupils and develop a social understanding of ASC community. They aim to provide support for pupils in helping them understand their emotions and how to manage daily activities.
What are the needs of the pupils?
- Autism - across all key stages
- Complex needs and Challenging behaviour needs
- Learning difficulties such as Dyslexia and Dyspraxia
Ideal candidate for this position:
- Experience working in an SEN School supporting students with autism and learning difficulties
- Supported students in either a primary setting with a statement of special educational needs
- Provided 1:1 support for pupils with learning difficulties
- Understanding of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
- Music/Drama/Youth/Support worker background would be beneficial to this role
