This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and understands the importance of creating positive early learning experiences. Whether your background is in a school, nursery, childcare setting or Early Years provision, we'd love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting children's learning through creative, play-based activities whilst helping them develop the confidence, communication and social skills that provide the foundations for future success.

About the Role

Working closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team, you will support children as they explore, discover and learn through a stimulating and engaging environment. Every day will be different, from supporting phonics and early literacy activities to encouraging imaginative play, outdoor learning and social development.

You will help create a warm, inclusive and nurturing classroom where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children within the EYFS classroom through play-based and adult-led learning activities.
  • Assist with the development of early communication, language and literacy skills, including phonics.

  • Support children during indoor and outdoor learning opportunities.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Help maintain a safe, caring and inclusive environment where every child can flourish.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to pupils' overall wellbeing.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with young children in a school, nursery, preschool, childcare or similar setting.
  • Is caring, patient and enthusiastic about supporting children's development.
  • Understands the importance of learning through play and child-centred approaches.
  • Has an interest in early literacy, communication and language development.
  • Can build positive relationships with children and support their emotional wellbeing.
  • Is confident supporting children of varying abilities and needs.
  • Works well as part of a team and uses initiative when required.
  • Brings energy, creativity and a positive attitude to the classroom every day.

Experience supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) is desirable but not essential.
