Learning Support Assistant - Cardiff Secondary School

We have a Teaching Assistant role in one of our partner Secondary Schools in Cardiff.

• Full time Teaching Assistant position starting in September

• Additional Learning Support Unit attached to mainstream school

• Supporting with additional learning needs

This is a mixed 11-19 years secondary school with around 1000 students currently on roll, located North of Cardiff the school is easily accessible via a range of public transport options. The school is based on a large site providing modern state of the art facilities with large classrooms and a senior leadership team that promotes career development and promotion from within.

Teaching Assistant responsibilities:

• Supporting identified students with Literacy and Numeracy on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Building relationships with the pupils to keep them motivated and raise attainment
• Have excellent behaviour management skills
• Providing support to pupils who may struggle to integrate within mainstream classes due to their challenging behaviour
