Learning Mentor

This role is ideal for individuals with previous youth work experience or experience supporting children and young people with additional learning needs.

• Full-time Learning Mentor role.
• Required from January 2021 or earlier, until the end of the academic year in the first instance.
• Large secondary school in Bolton.
• Mentor students in small groups and occasionally support pupils on a 1:1 basis when they are withdrawn from classes.
• Earn up to GBP1400, depending on experience.

Our client school has noticed some pupils falling behind academically on their return to school. To ensure they reach their full potential and have targeted guidance; the school is hoping to recruit a learning mentor. Working as a Learning Mentor will involve working alongside class teachers to provide interventions for identified pupils who require extra support with learning of certain subjects. You will be supporting pupils at various levels of learning ability and all resources will be provided by the class teachers.

You must have experience of working with individuals who have additional learning needs as these skills will be highly transferrable.

Our client school is based in Bolton and can be accessed via the M61 and A58 from surrounding areas for those who have their own transportation. For non-drivers, there are several forms of public transport with links to areas such as Bury, Worsley and Farnworth.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
