Are you looking to use your skills and experience in a school environment?
Or perhaps you have a background as a Support Worker, Care Worker, Key Worker or Youth Worker and feel confident working with children?
Teaching Personnel are working exclusively with a SEMH Provision in Bracknell that is currently looking for staff to start as soon as possible. The school cater for primary and secondary pupils that have been excluded from mainstream school, therefore all the pupils have challenging behaviour. Alongside this they can potentially have other needs such as:
Autism (ASC/ASD)
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
ADHD
The majority of the current vacancies are for full time, permanent Support Assistants who would work 1:1 or in small groups with these pupils. The ideal candidate would have previous experience working with similar needs or be passionate about working in this type of school. Candidates that are suited for this type of school tend to have experience in some of the following:
- Psychology
- Youth/Community work experience
- Care worker
- Challenging behaviour within family
- Mentoring
- SEN Experience
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll typically need to:
- Follow instructions from Teachers in order to support effectively in the class room
- Adhere to professional practice standards and legislation, including confidentiality, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion policies
- Ensure you're up-to-date on your knowledge of local service provision for appropriate signposting and referrals
- Support students on 1:1, adapting your approach on a case by case basis in order to engage students effectively
- Help children with learning and development
- Coach, mentor and motivate children to understand the benefits of relevant activities

• A good understanding of the challenges faced by the children you help

• Commitment to making a positive difference to the lives of the students
• A positive, non-judgemental, empathetic and sensitive approach
In order to register with Teaching Personnel, candidates are required to have Child Workforce DBS registered on the update service. All candidates are required to complete a Safeguarding course through Teaching Personnel, or provide a relevant safeguarding certificate during your registration process. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory vetting checks and references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
