Our partner school in Chichester are looking for a highly motivated and committed individual to join their experienced team of Learning Support Assistants working 1:1 in class with a student who has additional needs. Knowledge or experience of working with children who present challenging behaviour and who have learning difficulties is essential. Candidates with experience of working alongside students with social, emotional and mental health needs is advantageous. The school is a popular one, offering a challenging role in a forward looking environment, with innovative community developments and collaborations. The successful candidate will join an enterprising, highly skilled and motivated team of teaching and support staff.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be educated to degree level in a related subject, e.g. psychology, special education needs etc or have significant experience and other relevant qualifications
- Be whiling to undertake any additional training that the school or teaching personnel think would benefit you in your role
- Have prior experience of working with students who have Social and Emotional difficulties or can demonstrate a sound level of knowledge and understanding of SEMH.
- Have previous experience of working with young people
