Do you have experience with ASD children or looking to transfer your career skills across to? I am working with a lovely mainstream school in Walthamstow. They are seeking an experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student who has ASD. The successful candidate must be empathic, kind and caring, and willing to assist in personal care.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Create a structured environment: Students with ASD often benefit from a structured environment with clear routines and expectations.
- Provide sensory support: Sensory processing issues are common for students with ASD.
- Use clear and concise language: Students with ASD may struggle with understanding complex language or sarcasm.
- Encourage social interaction: Social skills may be challenging for students with ASD.
- Collaborate with parents and other professionals: Collaboration between home and school is important for supporting students with ASD. Working closely with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to ensure a consistent approach.
