KS2 Teaching Assistant (1:1 ALN Support) – Barry, Vale of Glamorgan

Start date: ASAP | Contract until: April 2026
Pay: From £90 per day (paid weekly, every Friday)


About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a pupil with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a large, welcoming primary school in Barry.
You’ll play a key role in supporting the child’s learning, emotional development, and engagement in class activities, working closely with the class teacher and ALNCo to ensure they reach their full potential.

This role would suit someone patient, nurturing, and proactive who enjoys making a real difference in a child’s day-to-day experience at school.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in working within KS2 (Years 3–6)

  • Confident supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), ideally on a 1:1 basis

  • A positive, patient, and empathetic team player with a proactive approach

  • Fully registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)

To be considered for this role, you’ll need to complete a 30-minute face-to-face registration with Teaching Personnel, including reference and DBS checks.
