Long-Term 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term role?
We are seeking an enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a welcoming primary school in Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan.

About the Role:


This is a long-term position, working closely with a pupil who requires additional support to access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom. The role involves:

  • Providing 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s individual needs

  • Assisting with learning activities, communication, and emotional regulation

  • Working alongside the class teacher and ALNCo to implement support strategies

  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive learning environment

✨ What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting children with ALN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, Speech & Language, SEMH)

  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Flexibility and a positive attitude towards supporting learning

  • A valid DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one)

Position Details:

  • Location: Barry, Vale of Glamorgan

  • Start Date: ASAP / Immediate start

  • Contract Type: Long-term, ongoing (full-time, school hours)

  • Pay Rate: £85–£95 per day (depending on experience)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
