Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
A Primary Pupil Referral Unit in Manchester require a specialised Primary Teacher to cover a long term sickness at their site in South Manchester. The unit aims to provide pupils with specialised support to allow them to successfully transition back into mainstream school. Transitioning is not always possible, therefore the Teacher must be able to fully support pupils with their educational journey.
This site caters for pupils in Key Stage 2 who have been excluded from mainstream school and have various social, emotional and mental health needs. Pupils can display challenging behaviours therefore strong behaviour management is essential. An up-to-date Team - Teach qualification is desirable, however Teaching Personnel can provide the 12 hour training.
Majority of pupils are working at much lower levels than their mainstream peers, therefore previous experience working with with pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
Challenging and confrontational behaviours are common therefore the school require a strong willed Teacher who can provide a flexible and differentiated approach to the curriculum. Majority of children will have individual education plans that must be followed. It would also be beneficial for the Teacher to have awareness of special educational needs and be aware of early stages of diagnosis.
The ideal Teacher will;
- Have Qualified Teacher Status
- Be passionate about developing the social and emotional development of young people
- Have an awareness of the Primary Curriculum and be able to support across all subjects
Ambitious NQTs and experienced Teachers are encouraged to apply.
If you would like to be considered for this role, please contact Georgia on 0161 242 1795 or send a copy of your up-to-date CV
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
