Job description

Are you passionate about supporting secondary school pupils in their learning and personal development?

A well-regarded secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking a motivated and reliable part-time Key Stage 3 & 4 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This role provides a fantastic opportunity to support pupils aged 11 to 16 with their academic progress and social development within an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils during lessons with classroom activities and learning tasks

  • Assisting teaching staff with differentiated learning plans

  • Helping to manage behaviour and encourage positive engagement

  • Supporting small groups or one-to-one interventions tailored to individual needs

  • Encouraging pupils’ social, emotional, and educational development

 

Person Specification:

  • Experience working with secondary-aged pupils (desirable)

  • Patient, adaptable and committed to supporting pupil success

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • DBS registered on the Update Service or willing to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
