Intervention Teaching Assistant

Due to the significant disruption felt by schools due to COVID-19, Teaching Personnel are hiring several teaching assistants to provide 1:1 or small group support for those students most affected by time out of the classroom.

We are working with schools across Lewisham, Greenwich and some parts of North Kent to provide in-school and online support for students with core subjects. Working patterns can vary dependant on school and applicant’s needs, and so there is a degree of flexibility with each role.

Responsibilities:

• Planning and preparing intervention lessons in line with areas of difficulty with the support of class teachers
• Delivering engaging, insightful lessons that promote pupil progress
• Marking student work and providing feedback to class teachers
• Ad-hoc classroom duties including assisting class teachers with administrative tasks

We are looking for applicants with the following qualities:

• Experience of working in a primary school setting is desirable, but not essential
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
• Ability to work independently and motivate students to succeed
• Valid Enhanced DBS check registered to the update service (or be willing to obtain this)
• Located in or around Lewisham, Greenwich or North Kent

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
