Computing/ICT teacher post starting in September at an academy located in the Stockport area. Currently at a full-time post to start in September 2023. You will be teaching Computing across KS3 and KS4. Prior experience with Computing and ICT would be desirable but not essential.

This role would be a great opportunity for any newly qualified or experienced teacher. Whether they are coming to the end of a contract, recently completed there PGCE or part of a School Direct teacher programme. The successful applicant will be looking to teach computer science up to GCSE level and following the AQA syllabus for ICT.

Therefore, prior experience of developing schemes of work or own resources is highly desirable. The school emphasises the importance of equipping the students with the experiences, values and behaviours which will enable them to take place to become active, successful and confident.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Delivering high quality computing lessons, being able to implement effective strategies and methods to allow all children to thrive within the subject.
  • Understanding and being able to conquer issues related to children not wanting to engage with the subject and being able to think independently about how to best cater for these children to allow them to gain satisfaction from the subject.
  • Being able to work as part of a team, working with pupils on both a group and individual basis.
  • Monitoring attendance, preparing students for exams and ensuring that the equipment for lessons is efficiently maintained and organised.
  • Pay -between MPS1-MPS6 (Approx. £28,000 - £43,685) based on prior experience.

School located in the south area of Stockport, it would be perfect for anyone located in the; Hazel grove, Edgeley and Poynton area. It is very accessible to people living outside of those designated areas due to public transport lines in very close proximity, alongside the close motorway links.

All Computer Science and ICT teachers available for full time, long term work from the start of September are encouraged to apply now. You will need to have QTS, experience teaching in a UK secondary school, school based references and an application for a fully enhanced DBS certificate to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
