Teaching Personnel are working with a Secondary SEN school based in Roman Road, Oldham. They are recruiting for a Secondary ICT Teacher to join their wonderful team of staff. This post is being offered on a fixed term basis for the full academic year to cover a period of maternity leave.

The school caters for children with Autism and ASD, and it provides a broad and balanced curriculum that enables children and young people from reception to Key Stage 4 to access creative learning opportunities tailored to meet their individual needs. A successful, innovative curriculum design provides children and young people with autism and/or social and communication difficulties with their full entitlement.

The school are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and excellent Secondary teachers of ICT to join their dynamic, growing and committed team. This is also an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified teacher, who can demonstrate a genuine interest in supporting SEND pupils and is looking to work for an organisation which provides opportunities for professional development and progression.

The successful candidate will:

• Have specific experience/interest in working with pupils with SEND and Autism.

• Be an excellent practitioner with the commitment and motivation to inspire pupils’ learning and development.

• To have knowledge and understanding of autism and how pupils with autism learn and be able to use knowledge of ASC strategies to adapt learning to meet the needs of these pupils.

• To have an up to date understanding of the WJEC Entry Level Pathways Information Technology Entry Level 1-3 and Level 1and OCR Cambridge Nationals Creative iMedia Level 1 & 2

• To have an up to date understanding of the ICT National Curriculum at secondary level and be able to adapt learning to meet the needs of pupils in KS3 and 4 learners who are working at and well below national expectations.

• To be able to use a wide range of communication tools to communicate with pupils in the school.

• Be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation through imaginative and differentiated lessons which meet individual needs.

• Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with young people with a range of complex needs.

• Have experience of current assessment practice and the use of data and pupil progress tracking to ensure that all groups of learners achieve.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
