Humanitties Teacher, ideally with Geography specialism

Full Time Teaching Role from January or Sooner

The Role

Our client school in Portsmouth is looking to appoint a Geography teacher on a permanent basis to start from January or sooner. This role will be paid to your current pay scale. This is a good rated school located centrally with excellent access by train, bus or car. You would be expected to be able to maintain and increase the attainment of the pupils under your care, ranging in age from 11-16 years.

The school are looking to interview potential candidates by means of a trial lesson followed by an interview with the head teacher and head of the Humanities Department. Successful candidates will then be placed onto a hire period contract via Teaching Personnel. There is a permanent position with a secure role at the end of the hire period.

The responsibilities of this role incorporate the entire responsibilities of a secondary classroom teacher.

The School

Last year within their Geography department results were slightly below the national average but had improved greatly on the prior years results and they are looking to improve this again in the coming year with improved policies and resources within the department alongside a very capable cohort of students. This would be an excellent position to take in order to grow as a teacher and expand on your own skills using the training and experience found within the faculty who have a vast amount of experience between them.

The school are happy to accept applications from any teachers at any stage of their career including NQT's looking for their first role, as an NQT you will be fully supported throughout your time with two mentors during the period you are at the school. 

The school is rated good by Ofsted and has extremely friendly staff and pupils, this is an ideal job role for any and all Geography teachers looking for their next step.
