Location: Central Salisbury
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £100–£105 per day (dependent on experience)
A welcoming and supportive primary school in Central Salisbury is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA or a highly experienced Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, with a particular focus on Key Stage 2.
The Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and cover classes in the absence of the class teacher.
- Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2.
- Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups to help pupils achieve their full potential.
- Assist with assessing pupil progress and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Promote high expectations for behaviour, learning, and achievement.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience working within a primary school setting.
- Have experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2.
- Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or have relevant experience in a similar role.
- Be confident leading whole-class learning when required.
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Be enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to supporting children to succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
