Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Runcorn
Contract Type: Full Time, Temporary (Temp to Perm Opportunity)
Start Date: As soon as possible
A thriving secondary school in Runcorn is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled HLTA to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored support to SEND students, both in class and through small group or 1:1 interventions.

Assist in the planning, delivery, and assessment of lessons under the guidance of teaching staff.

Take responsibility for delivering learning activities to small groups or the whole class when required.

Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that enables all learners to thrive.

Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to teachers and SENCO.

Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies to meet individual learning needs.
Essential Skills & Qualities:
-
Hold HLTA status or equivalent Level 4 qualification.
-
Experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally within a school setting.
-
Strong understanding of SEND and strategies to support diverse learning needs.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively.
-
Adaptability, patience, and a proactive approach to learning support.
-
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Desirable:
-
Experience with specific SEND needs such as ASD, ADHD, or SEMH.
-
Experience supporting GCSE preparation and curriculum delivery.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
