Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Start Date: January or sooner
Salary: £13.75 an hour
Are you ready to take the next step in your education career? We’re looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic SEN/PRU Primary School in Bournemouth.

Why This Role Matters
As an HLTA, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering tailored learning experiences, supporting pupils aged 4–11 with a range of needs including ADHD, ASD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and other behavioural challenges. You’ll work closely with teachers, lead small group interventions, and contribute to creating a safe, structured, and positive learning atmosphere.

What We’re Looking For
- Experience working in SEN or PRU settings
- Strong understanding of SEMH and positive behaviour strategies
- English & Maths GCSE A*- C or equivalent
- HLTA Training / Assessment
- Ability to lead learning activities and support teachers effectively
- Resilient, patient, and passionate about inclusive education
- Skilled in de-escalating challenging situations calmly and safely

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
