History Teacher (Northampton)

Job Title: History Teacher

Location: Northampton

Full/Part Time: Full Time - likely to be permanent

Start Date: November 4th 2019

Pay in line with MPS/UPS - ÂŁ23, 720 - ÂŁ39, 406.

Due to an increasing demand in pupil numbers and growing success, the Directors of this popular, up and coming secondary school are currently looking to appoint an engaging History teacher dedicated to providing high quality learning to its pupils. The school achieved its best ever exam results at GCSE and A-Level in 2016, making it one of the top co-educational schools in Northampton.

The Humanities department are seeking a History teacher who is committed to ensuring all pupils achieve, by reinforcing high standards with regards to teaching and learning, as well as pupil attitude to learning within the classroom. This school is one that values a caring and inclusive approach, encouraging everyone to make a positive contribution to the common good. The successful candidate will be required to teach Geography alongside a timetable that is predominately History. The ability to teach History up to A Level would be advantageous. It is likely that there will be a permanent contract available at the end of the academic year for the selected applicant.

Each week the school dedicate an hour and a half to professional development through energetic pedagogy led sessions, breakouts, coaching and other professional activities. We believe relationships underpin good schools and regularly collapse CPD to provide time for the children. The facilities are outstanding and include excellent sporting facilities, diverse curriculum areas and a large Horticulture area. The buildings and opportunities are available to staff to create something truly exceptional.

To be eligible for this History position through Teaching Personnel you will need to be available for full time work, have QTS or NQT status, suitable school-based references and be able to apply for a fully enhanced DBS certificate.
