History Teacher – Full Time

Chorley
Start Date: 2nd February
Full-Time, Ongoing

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to join a well‑established secondary school in Chorley from 2nd February. This is a full‑time role ideal for a passionate educator who can deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 and contribute positively to a committed humanities department.

The Role

  • Teach History across KS3 and KS4, delivering well‑structured lessons that bring the past to life.
  • Prepare students for GCSE assessment with high‑quality teaching and targeted support.
  • Maintain excellent behaviour and create a safe, respectful, and inspiring learning environment.
  • Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform future planning.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, team planning, and wider school life.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS or is an ECT with a strong History specialism.
  • Confident in delivering creative, challenging, and inclusive History lessons.
  • Strong classroom management and clear communication skills.
  • Passionate about engaging students with historical topics, enquiry skills, and critical thinking.
  • Reliable, reflective, and able to work effectively within a supportive team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
