History Teacher – Full Time

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to join a well‑established secondary school in Chorley from 2nd February. This is a full‑time role ideal for a passionate educator who can deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 and contribute positively to a committed humanities department.
The Role
- Teach History across KS3 and KS4, delivering well‑structured lessons that bring the past to life.
- Prepare students for GCSE assessment with high‑quality teaching and targeted support.
- Maintain excellent behaviour and create a safe, respectful, and inspiring learning environment.
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform future planning.
- Contribute to curriculum development, team planning, and wider school life.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds QTS or is an ECT with a strong History specialism.
- Confident in delivering creative, challenging, and inclusive History lessons.
- Strong classroom management and clear communication skills.
- Passionate about engaging students with historical topics, enquiry skills, and critical thinking.
- Reliable, reflective, and able to work effectively within a supportive team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
