Job Description: Experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Position: Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: Wellingborough 

Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our educational team in Wellingborough/Kettering. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students in their learning journey. As an HLTA, you will bring your expertise and passion for education to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Your contributions will be instrumental in promoting student progress and fostering a love for learning.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering effective and engaging lessons across various subjects and age groups.
  2. Provide one-on-one and small group support to students who need additional help, ensuring their individual learning needs are met.
  3. Facilitate classroom activities and maintain a conducive learning environment, encouraging students' active participation and involvement.
  4. Monitor and track student progress, recording observations and providing feedback to teachers to support academic development.
  5. Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere for learning.
  6. Collaborate with teachers to adapt and modify learning materials to accommodate students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
  7. Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other personalized learning strategies.
  8. Assist with the preparation and administration of assessments, tests, and examinations, as required.
  9. Support students' emotional well-being and foster their social skills, promoting a caring and inclusive school culture.
  10. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance skills and stay updated with best practices in education.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in a school setting.
  2. A passion for education and a commitment to helping students reach their full potential.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  4. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
  5. Knowledge of the UK education system and curriculum, particularly at the O-Level stage.
  6. Understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support students with diverse needs.
  7. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team of educators.
  8. Flexible and adaptable, willing to take on new challenges and responsibilities as needed.
  9. Enthusiastic, patient, and compassionate approach to supporting students' learning and development.
  10. Right to work in the United Kingdom and any relevant certifications or qualifications.
