Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

A highly supportive and well-established specialist school in Sturminster Newton is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025, with the potential for an earlier start.
This flexible role offers both full-time and part-time options and involves working with pupils aged 4 to 18 who have a range of special educational needs (SEN), including autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs.
About the Role:

Deliver pre-planned learning activities and cover lessons in the teacher’s absence

Support pupils with complex learning needs in both classroom and small group settings

Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualised learning strategies

Promote student independence, communication and engagement

Work within a nurturing and positive behaviour framework

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
