Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Are you an experienced HLTA looking to take the next step in a nurturing, inclusive environment?

A highly supportive and well-established specialist school in Sturminster Newton is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025, with the potential for an earlier start.

This flexible role offers both full-time and part-time options and involves working with pupils aged 4 to 18 who have a range of special educational needs (SEN), including autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs.

 

About the Role:

  • Deliver pre-planned learning activities and cover lessons in the teacher’s absence

  • Support pupils with complex learning needs in both classroom and small group settings

  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualised learning strategies

  • Promote student independence, communication and engagement

  • Work within a nurturing and positive behaviour framework

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
