Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Job description
Are you a passionate and qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for flexible work in supportive and diverse primary schools?
At Teaching Personnel, we are currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic HLTAs to join our team of supply staff. Whether you're looking for day-to-day cover, short-term roles, or long-term placements, we can offer assignments to suit your availability and preferences.
About you:
You’ll be confident leading whole-class sessions in the absence of the teacher, delivering planned lessons, and supporting pupils on a one-to-one or small-group basis.
Assignments may vary across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 depending on your experience and school needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons to whole classes
- Supporting classroom teachers with planning and assessment
- Leading small group and intervention sessions
- Promoting a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Maintaining high standards of behaviour and safeguarding
- Adapting quickly to new school environments and routines
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification (or equivalent Level 4+ teaching assistant qualification)
- Previous experience in a primary school setting
- Confident managing a classroom independently
- Flexible, reliable, and proactive
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Able to provide 2 professional references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
